Angel was created by Joss Whedon for the television series 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and later adapted into comic book form.

Early Years

Originally a human named Liam, he was turned into a vampire by Darla and became known as Angelus, a sadistic killer. After gaining a soul, he sought redemption.

Character Development

Angel's character has evolved from a tortured soul seeking redemption to a leader fighting for the greater good, often struggling with his darker nature.
