Korra was created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko as the protagonist of the sequel series to Avatar: The Last Airbender. She was designed to be a strong, independent character who embodies the spirit of the Avatar.

Early Years

Korra was born in the Southern Water Tribe and began her training as the Avatar at a young age, mastering water, earth, and fire bending before moving to Republic City to learn airbending.
