Static was created by Dwayne McDuffie, Michael Davis, Derek Dingle, and Jim Bernard as part of the Milestone Media initiative to create diverse characters in the comic book industry.Early Years
Virgil Hawkins was a teenager living in Dakota City who gained electromagnetic powers after being exposed to a mutagenic gas during a gang fight. He adopted the superhero identity of Static to fight crime and protect his community.Character Development
