Harvey flees with the alien girl in her space capsule to draw the fire of her pursuers away from his shipmates. They hit the hyperspace button and arrive in another galaxy but their pursuers still follow. They damage the capsule and Harvey and the girl must travel on foot to a matter teleportation station where the girl ascends the platform and beckons Harvey to join her, but the alien pursuers blast Harvey off his feet as she fades away. Harvey lies dying in the rubble but the monolith appears and converts him into a new seed.
