Synopsis

"More Than Inhuman!" Having defeated and captured three Skrulls, the Avengers return to Avengers Mansion and contact the Fantastic Four to report the incident to Mr. Fantastic. He confirms that their opponents are three of the four members of a group the Fantastic Four had previously encountered early in their career. The Avengers then ponder what became of the Vision after the battle. The Vision followed after the Skrull’s ship that escaped in the last issue. He stealthily makes his way into the craft and eavesdrops on the Super Skrull’s plan. The Super Skrull holds the Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Captain Marvel hostage and intends to deliver them to the Skrull Emperor in hopes of getting his exile pardoned. Before that, however, he aims to destroy another obstacle in the Skrull plan for domination of the Earth: Attilan, the hidden city of the Inhumans (who are descendants of Kree genetic experiments). The Vision overhears the Super Skrull's declaration and attacks. Alas, he fails to prevent the Super Skrull’s wave of destruction upon the city and its surroundings. Attilan is not without its defenses, however, as an umbrella of dark light energy protects it from the ship’s attack. Realizing that his powers are no match for the Super Skrull, the Vision retreats so as not to risk the lives of those he plans to save. The Super-Skrull continues his journey towards the Skrull home world. Upon arriving there, he is greeted with hostility but tries fighting his way to the Emperor’s palace in order to confront him directly. It’s a wasted effort and he is defeated. His three hostages are taken to the throne room. The Emperor demands that Mar-Vell build an Omni-Wave device for the Skrull or else they will destroy Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. Although Mar-Vell initially refuses, the two mutant Avengers are placed in a death trap that overwhelms them until he relents and agrees to build the Omni-Wave device. Thus, the two heroes are (momentarily) spared. Back on Earth, the Avengers plan out their next course of action when they get a tip from Nick Fury of an impending attack. Moments later, H. Warren Craddock arrives with a trio of Mandroids (soldiers in suits of high-tech armor designed by Tony Stark) to capture the Avengers. As the heroes battle against the Mandroids, Triton of the Inhumans crawls out of a manhole seeking aid from the team.
