Synopsis

ABATTOIR! Orderlies at Arkham Asylum attempt to restrain the serial killer known as Abattoir. However, one of the orderlies is actually Abattoir's cohort – McDonald. McDonald attacks the guards and frees Abattoir. Together, the two hijack a truck and escape from the mental asylum.  Abattoir decides to raid the political campaign of mayoral prospect Henry Etchison. Attending the function is Bruce Wayne and reporter Vicki Vale. Abattoir kills Etchison's wife, but Secret Service personnel protect Henry from the murderer's rampage.   Vicki Vale snaps a picture of Abattoir, and the villain declares that she has just stolen his soul. He chases her into the Etchison mansion prepared to kill her. Bruce Wayne turns into Batman and rescues Vicki, but Abattoir drives him back by shooting him squarely in the chest plate. Abattoir escapes and the Batman returns to the Batcave.   He investigates Abattoir's background and discovers that he is actually Arnold Etkar, a nephew of Henry Etchison. Batman tracks Abattoir to the Etkar family mausoleum and the two fight one another. Batman topples a stacked pile of coffins onto Arnold, burying him beneath a mountain of old dried up bones. He radios Commissioner Gordon and has him pick Abattoir up.
