Synopsis

OLD ENEMIES PART 2 Barbara Gordon is working as a volunteer in Luciana Alejo's campaign while trying to discover Jason Bard's plans and his possible link to Cormorant.   Jason Bard, though, swears he's trying to protect Alejo, and he tries to ingratiate himself with Barbara by ordering an assistant to put Barbara on the list for a fundraiser. Barbara decides against attending, though, staking out the fundraiser as Batgirl instead.  Batgirl spots Cormorant before he can snipe at Alejo. After ruining his assassination attempt, Batgirl engages the hitman, but she is defeated. Cormorant has been ordered to not kill her so he leaves, but Batgirl gets her hands on a sample of on Cormorant's blood.   Upon analyzing the sample, Barbara finds out Cormorant's identity. Batgirl suspects he is on Alejo's rival Branson Moore's payroll, but when she sneaks into Moore's campaign headquarters she finds he is being assaulted by Cormorant, too. Batgirl manages to save Moore, but she is unable to stop Cormorant from walking out the place.   After Cormorant is gone, Moore reveals Cormorant is after him and Alejo since they signed a deal to close Blackgate Penitentiary and move its inmates farther from Gotham City. Nonetheless, Cormorant's employer has threatened to kill him unless he calls off the announcement.   The next day, Barbara is examining Alejo's donation database when Alejo announces closing Blackgate has become one of her campaign's priorities now. Against Bard's advice she has scheduled a televised interview, and refuses to request police protection.   Later, Jason Bard's men have cordoned off the news station, but Cormorant has slipped into the building, disguising himself as a janitor.
