  • 1st comic book appearance of Terry McGinnis.
  • The book continues to see significant demand and steady gains without media rumors (though collector conjecture exists that a live action adaptation is inevitable).
  • In July of 2020, 2 9.8 copies sold for approximately $1300 each. This follows 2 big sales the week prior at approximately $1,200 and $1,350.
  • Several editions of this book exist in addition to the direct edition.
  • A promotional edition named "Batman Beyond Special Origin NN (No Number)" that has a large blank, white rectangle visible in the lower left corner of the book (intended for stores to stamp their logo) exists. This edition is dated June 1999 and features a Jello advertisement on the back cover.
  • A Six Flags promotional edition named "Batman Beyond Special Origin NN (No Number)" but often referred to as a 'Second Printing' by fans that has the Six Flags logo printed on large white rectangle visible in the lower left corner of the book exists. This edition is dated October 1999 and features a Playstation advertisement on the back cover.
  • A third printing promotional edition named "Batman Beyond Special Origin NN (No Number)" that has no UPC, blank white rectangle or logo in the lower left corner of the book exists. This edition is dated July 2000 and features a Batman Beyond - Return of the Joker DVD advertisement on the back cover. According to experts this is the second rarest edition. Copies are so rare it is impossible to say where current prices fall.
  • A Six Flags edition dated June 1999 and featuring a Jello advertisement on the back cover exists but is simply the direct market first printing of "Batman Beyond" (as opposed to the edition of "Batman Beyond Special Origin NN") with the Six Flags logo stamped onto it. Lastly, a Newsstand edition of the direct edition of "Batman Beyond" exists. According to experts this is the rarest edition. Copies are so rare it is impossible to say where current prices fall.
  • Created by Bruce Timm & Paul Dini and introduced in the Batman Beyond animated series.
