Synopsis

WEBS: HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE In her attempt to stop Wolf Spider from stealing a painting from Arkham Asylum, Batwoman has found herself under attack by the Asylum's inmates while her quarry escapes. As he watches her fight through them, Wolf Spider marvels at her grace and skill until he hears Nocturna wondering where they are going. Brushing her off, he explains that wherever he is going, she is not coming, and ditches her there. In the meantime, Batwoman handles each of her new foes inventively, using the jellyfish-like flesh of one to sting another, and trapping another made of bugs within a glue bomb. Leaving the Arkham guards to handle the rest, she returns to her pursuit of Wolf Spider. She corners him on the roof, demanding a rematch, but unexpectedly, he reveals a set of wings, gliding off the edge and away from her. Hurriedly, she flicks a tracker onto his back.   Meanwhile, at the GCPD Headquarters, Detective Maggie Sawyer receives word of the situation at Arkham and exasperatedly prepares herself for the inevitable encounter with Batwoman. On her way out of the office, though, she is accosted by a man who serves her a subpoena, as her ex-husband Jay is suing for sole custody of their daughter Jamie.   Following Wolf Spider on her motorcycle, Batwoman is surprised when she realizes that he is headed for Kane Estate - her father's house. Using the passages put in place by her grandfather - a bootlegger during prohibition - she manages to sneak up on him as he collects the Eisenstadt painting he sought. She pins him to the wall and yanks it away from him, surprised to recognize it from her own childhood. It had been her mother's favorite painting, but she and her sister Beth had vetoed it, relegating it to the attic. Angrily, she demands to know what he wants with these Eisenstadts, but before she can get an answer, she feels the impact of a bullet slamming into her back, and collapses down the stairs behind her.   Grumpily, Wolf Spider wonders what his employer - Mr. Grantham - is doing there, and what he thought he was doing in killing Batwoman. Unperturbed, Grantham responds that in a place like Gotham, two more will certainly take her place. Thanks, though, to her bulletproof suit, Batwoman is merely hurt, but plays dead until they have gone.   Afterwards, she and her cousin Bette look into Grantham, surprised that he is still alive after all this time. Unmoved, Kate asks Bette to pull up images of the four stolen Eisenstadt paintings. Meanwhile, Wolf Spider and Grantham are looking at their haul, but Grantham is upset to learn that the map pieces hidden within the paintings aren't from the same map. Simultaneously, though, Kate and Wolf Spider manage to rearrange the paintings and discover the secret therein: a location.
