Disenchanted with the dependence society has claimed on technology, the cantankerous Grizzly Haze moves to the furthest reaches of wilderness he can. Deep within the former Lassen National Forest, Grizzly has lived off the land for the better half of a decade, spending quality time with the only friend he has; a loyal and annoyingly positive puppy named Apollo. But supplies are low, and the impending necessity of a trip back to the real world is upon them. But a darkness awaits them in Palo Cedro. The world is even worse than when they left.
