Synopsis

Straight from the fight last issue, Ray, Ned Smith and Bonnie Robinson stand against the Black Condor transformed into a mute, rocky, gargoyle-like creature. However, since the Ray’s last assault, Condor has mutated again: now he is 18 feet tall, and has become more reptilian in look. Ray tries to attack again, but Ned steps in between the Ray and the mutated Condor, allowing the mutated Condor to leave.  Ray tracks the Condor, whom he as dubbed “Godzorilla,” and tries a few more attempts at stopping him. However, every time the Ray blasts the Condor, he mutates even further. Ned and Bonnie jump into a cab to also track the Condor. In the cab, Ned is once again visited by the spirit of the original Black Condor, looking for a way to help the mutated Condor.  The Ray continues attacking the mutated Condor, with the Condor continuing to mutate further. The mutated Condor soon gains the ability to fly and project energy blasts, but the Ray manages to get in a good shot, dropping the mutated Condor to the ground.  While everyone things that the mutated Condor is dying, the apparition of the first Condor returns to tell Ned that the mutated Condor uses is just trying to heal himself of his wounds. Ned, Bonnie, and the two Rays take watch, and eventually the mutated Condor bursts apart, revealing a healed Condor. Still weak, the returned Black Condor goes to return home, but not before the Ray offers to hang out sometime as heroes of Philadelphia. Condor blows him off with a telepathic blast before continuing back to New Jersey.
