"Discharged" Once new recruits for the Youngblood program the Bloodpool participants were poked, prodded, drugged and operated on in order to ensure their future as field agents in Youngblood.  Unfortunately this was not to happen.  After the events of  "Extreme Sacrifice" the funding for the program was canceled (just not before the participants had been irreversibly altered) and it's members sent packing. On their way out of the compound, secretly given permission by Youngblood field leader Shaft, the Bloodpool participants liberate some weapons and ordinance classified "outdated" and headed off.  The participants broke into two groups and the primary members of the program literally ran head first into a kidnapping at gunpoint. Operating on instinct alone the Bloodpool participants leaped from the vehicle, saved the intended victims and took the check written to them on the spot as an omen regarding their future: super powered mercenaries.
