Synopsis

Cable and Agent Jack Truman, aka Agent 18, are still fighting in Hell's Kitchen. Agent 18 is on a mission to kill Cable. Their fight is abruptly halted by a member of S.H.I.E.L.D. At that moment, Cable manages to steal Agent 18's weapon, shoots with it, and makes his disappearance. The police are ordering everyone near the crime scene to evacuate, including Stacey Kramer and her little brother Kenny.Back in Cable's hideaway, Irene Merryweather and Blaquesmith watch the news and wonder if Cable has any part of it. Blaquesmith shows her the progression of the techno-organic virus in Cable's body since he can no longer control it without his telepathy. Irene shows her concern and says she will go find and help him.Cable and the rest of S.H.I.E.L.D. are playing cat and mouse, as Cable finds an abandoned building and finds his way to the sub-basement. S.H.I.E.L.D. managed to locate him and bombed the building down. They believe that Cable couldn't have possibly survived the explosion. Meanwhile, Cable and an old hobo whom he had saved, have successfully escaped through the sewers. Cable leaves the old man, and runs off. The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents can't seem to find a body, meaning Cable had escaped. They also can't find Agent 18, because he has run off on his own to search for Cable, which he finally does. As they fight, Agent 18 is wondering why Cable isn't using any of his powers. When Cable has no choice, he uses the little amount of telekinesis that he still has. This weakens him even more and Agent 18 realizes this. Agent 18 manages to knock out Cable, but is still highly suspicious as to why Cable isn't as strong as the files warn. He is determined to find out what the missing links are.In Washington D.C., G.W. Bridge has been transferred there, away from the Cable mission, and doesn't like it. He tries to get information about why and also questions what S.H.I.E.L.D. is hoping to achieve in Hell's Kitchen, as he watches on the T.V. news.
