Through a rift in space/time/reality/etc Genis crosses into another reality and encounters his father. Mistaking Genis for a villain at first, they battle as superheroes so often do in these situations before teaming up. They battle 'Thanos', who in this reality turns out to be a purple-skinned Adam Warlock. Before parting ways to seal the rift in space/time/etc, Mar-Vell tells Genis how proud of him he is.
