"Stampede" When Greer Nelson's high school friend, Sally, came to visit Chicago one spring day, their sightseeing tour ended at the Union Stock Yards. Instead of going back to the North Shore, Sally suggested getting lunch at a local tavern. They had just received their orders when a lothario approached them. Greer used her skills to remove his hand from her shoulder and flip him onto his back, then "accidentally" knocked her mug off the table and onto his head. The beer-soaked masher was going to take revenge on them when three patrons came to their defense. The three made short work of the hot-head, and he retreated to the men's restroom. There, he popped open a vial of fluid. The tavern manager apologized for the trouble and told Greer and Sally lunch was on the house. As they thanked him, the wall burst and the Man-Bull emerged through the hole. He proceeded to rip the tavern apart. Greer sent Sally off in a taxi, then found a darkened alley to change into her Cat uniform. Seeing the costumed figure, the Man-Bull had a flashback to San Francisco a few months ago where Daredevil and the Black Widow defeated him. Back in his human form, Bill "Bull" Taurens brutally beat the professor who had developed the Man-Bull serum, then took both the serum and money. He flew to Chicago to start over. Back in the present, the Man-Bull charged the Cat and hurled her across the room, then continued his rampage out on the street. He knocked a police car aside, then the Cat tried to stop his charge down the street. He crashed through a wall, emerging with hundreds of cattle following. As they reached Halsted Street, she tore loose a four-foot-long steel bar and bashed him over the head with it. As the Man-Bull reverted to human form, the cattle turned back to the pens, trampling him. The Cat checked him and found he was hemorrhaging and had broken ribs. She told the police the man responsible needed a doctor, then swung away. Police officer Bolton asked a lieutenant if he should detain her? He replied no, that if they did she'd never be free to act as the Cat again.
