MOTHER'S DAY PART 1 Selina Kyle has a nightmare in which Helena is surrounded by all the villains she has faced in the recent past as well as the Joker. She goes to check on Helena, who is fussing, and she takes her to the roof where she calls Bruce, telling him that she needs to talk to him as soon as possible. She falls back asleep but wakes when she hears someone in her daughter's room. She dives at them, but Batman quickly grabs hold of her and assures her that it's only him. He asks her what's wrong, and she says, "I can't do this anymore." She asks him to take off his mask before telling him that it's Helena. Bruce checks on Helena and reassures Selina that Helena is perfectly fine, and Selina appears in the doorway in her Catwoman costume. She suggests they take this conversation to the roof. Catwoman tells Batman that theirs isn't a life for a toddler... or for anyone else except them. Karon, Slam, and Holly all had their lives destroyed recently, and that's enough. Batman asks Catwoman why she called him. She asks him to kill her and her daughter. The next day, Selina goes out shopping for toys with Helena, signing her receipt as "Irena Dubrovna." Outside the store they are confronted by a costumed villain calling himself "the Revolutionary," who demands a volunteer to assist him in his cause in freeing the "freethinkers" imprisoned in Arkham Asylum. No one says anything, but Helena starts crying. The Revolutionary decides that means Helena has volunteered on behalf of her and her mother and lassos Selina around the waist, pulling her towards him. The glowing red panel on his chest starts beeping, and then the street explodes, apparently taking the Revolutionary, Selina, and Helena with it. In the sewers, Selina asks the Revolutionary if he thinks they bought it while holding a dangling, empty-eyed Helena by the wrist. He assures her they did as he unmasks himself, revealing that the Revolutionary was Bruce Wayne. They walk through the sewers until they reach where Alfred parked with Helena. That night, Selina watches the news with Helena as they eulogize the sudden, senseless deaths of Irena and Helena Dubrovna. Helena is thrilled to see herself and her mother on the TV, but Selina calls Bruce and asks for one more thing.
