Synopsis

PASSION NOCTURNALE Jason Todd runs away from Wayne Manor, but on his way back to the circus, he comes across Nocturna, who he assumes is a ghost. Jason and Nocturna have a little talk in which Jason explains that he needs to leave his foster home because he is not free to become who he wants to be. Nocturna advices him on the contrary before leaving the kid to ponder his situation. Hours later, Jason decides to continue with his plan and keeps going forward.  Meanwhile, Vicki Vale comes to the conclusion that her relationship with Bruce is going nowhere and she decides to leave her job as editor at Picture News magazine in order to leave Gotham City.   At night, Batman testifies in a special hearing for Anton Knight's trial and becomes aware that Nocturna is among the attendees, but fails to capture her. Later, Bruce learns that Jason has escaped, and tells Alfred to find the kid while he makes sure Anton Knight's transfer to prison goes well. As Batman suspected, during the transfer, Nocturna tries to release her adopted brother on a hot-air balloon, but Batman stops the escape attempt and captures Anton Knight and Nocturna, ending their crimes for good. SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST When the Russian embassy in Star City is attacked by extreme rightists led by the Survivalist, a paramilitary type, Oliver Queen (covering an ambassador's speech for the Daily Star) switches to his Green Arrow identity and drives away the Survivalist and his troops. Later, GA takes a captured weapon from the group to a general at nearby Fort Carlin and finds it far in advance of most regulation weapons. They are interrupted by the advent of the Survivalist and his men, who use a secret device in their possession to start raising nuclear missiles from their silos.
