The Tribes have been assembled within the Palace of The High-Ones. The call to Tribal Reunification has become stronger than ever for all elves. No single elf feels this unifying spirit more than Sun Top, who reels in pain from sending to Winnowill. She is the one elf who stands against the total unity of all her kin, so Leetah and Rayek join their powers into Sun Top.Leetah heals Sun Top while Rayek loans all of the powers of The High Ones that he has unlocked. With this special combination, Sun Top is able to speak directly into Winnowill's thoughs. She continues to torture Sun Top until Leetah finally closes the psychic door within Sun Top's mind against her.Search for the New HoltMeanwhile, the Wolfriders have had enough space-travel. Their chief wish is to seek out fertile forest, teeming with life, somewhere near the Forbidden Grove and begin a new life in a new Holt formed by Redlance. They have adopted Zhantee from the Sun Villagers , who rides Timmain through the forest, and Skot & Krim from the Go-Backs. Strongbow shoots the first deer, and Cutter hunts a ferocious woodchuck.
