Synopsis
The Skrull Empire has fallen into chaos after the destruction of its Throneworld in Fantastic Four 257. Now rogue governors throughout the universe are trying to take control of the scattered empire! And to that end a skrull disguised as Infant Terrible travels to Earth and begs the FF for help in saving his home planet! Reed sees through the subterfuge, but goes along with the ruse in order to stop this outlaw Skrull operation! With the element of surprise on their side, the FF quickly defeat the Skrulls, but inadvertently stumble into another Skrull operation...and then stumble into the Avengers! Why are Earth's Mightiest Heroes fighting on the Skrulls' power station asteroid? And what is the dastardly purpose of the Hyper-wave bomb? This story converges with the plot in Avengers (1963) Annual #14.
