Tara is drawn into the giant squid and discovers it is the mechanical construct of Randall Crowley, who now holds her and Janis captive. Ms. Victory, Captain Freedom, and Riot attack the squid and rescue the two girls. Crowley escapes, though She-Cat later captures his men on Jungle Island. Meanwhile, Laura, now living in the penthouse of the hotel she owns, receives an invitation to a dinner for TC Fremont hosted by Stella Stargaze and also, attended by Tara and Janis. She-Cat and Ms. V, along with the O-1 team, finally track down Crowley, and he is brought back to Oceanus One for trial. That same night, at TC's party, Stella enters with the guest of honor, whom she has now begun to control. Tara spots Stella wearing the skin of her beloved tiger Kipling, realizes that she was the one behind all of the poaching, and attacks her in a berserk frenzy.
