As Firestorm goes about his daily business in this issue's lead story, he is unaware that in the middle of his comic, a sixteen page preview story is marking the debut of fledgling stuntman-turned-hero Blue Devil. This move was an attempt by DC to put the fun back into comics and had Blue Devil face the machinations of Flash foe the Trickster, It would lead to Blue Devil getting his own series.
