Synopsis

After dealing with a knife-wielding mugger, and terrifying the passersby in the process, Ghost Rider ducks into an alleyway and reverts to Dan Ketch. He hurries to the home of his mother, Francis, who is distraught over the theft of the body of her daughter, Barbara, from Cypress Hills cemetery. When he arrives, Dan learns from his mother that Barbara's reanimated corpse was there and left a gift: her rotted heart.Miles away, Jericho Drumm and Lilith, Daughter of Dracula, investigate the supernatural emanations from a junkyard, and before long, they find six of the seven missing corpses from the cemetery. Nearby, a possessed undead Barbara raises a pitchfork and summons scores of crows to attack Drumm and Lilith, who summons rats to fight the birds.Meanwhile, exhausted from, and injured by, the past days' events, Jennifer Kale returns to her shambles of an apartment with her cousin John Blaze. Blaze is eager to search for his children, but Jennifer sends him away, with a promise to help the next day.Dan takes his mother to stay at the home of their friend, police officer Stacy Dolan, and he leaves to investigate the situation. He encounters Barbara who attmpts to impale him with her pitchfork, but he evades the attack. She then summons her crows, and he realizes the Scarecrow has possession of her body. Dan refuses to become Ghost Rider, fearing the spirit may harm Barbara. At that moment, Blaze rides onto the scene and pulls Dan aboard his motorcycle. They speed to Francis' house, trying to outrun the crows. They rush inside and proceed to shut the doors and windows. While Blaze deals with the front door, Dan, now himself possessed by the Scarecrow, knocks Blaze out with a liquor bottle. From his throne in his infernal realm, Blackheart watches and laughs.
