The police investigate a new ultra villain named Hardwire, who has the ability to cut things with his fingers on a molecular level. Meanwhile, Hardcase meets with the head of Choice Corporation, Bob Dixon, to get to the bottom of the problem involving chase and the ultras chasing her. Bob Dixon does not relent, but Hardcase informs him that she is under his protection. After that meeting, Rex Mundi indirectly hires Hardwire to take care of Hardcase. Meanwhile, NM-E, the robot that destroyed the Squad, has returns back to life, assimilating a young man to strengthen itself. A backup story involving Rune is added to this issue and every issue under the Ultraverse banner for the month of October, 1993.
