"The Sacrifice" Metamorpho is more powerful than ever, but so is 'The Family', as 'Daddy' sheds his skin to reveal a blazing-hot behemoth who ignites the air around him. The League do their best to fight the Family, making use of the protective shield that appears around Power Girl when she is danger, thought to be a result of her pregnancy. But in the end, there is only one being who can turn the tide - Godfrey, the missing Family member. When 'Daddy' tries to snuff out the heroes of the JLI, Godfrey snaps to, revealing himself as the powerful Gaius, long used as the Family's toy, but now strong enough to oppose them if need be. He will rejoin his family on the condition that they leave Earth and other worlds in peace. He bids a sad farewell to the Justice League and accompanies his relatives off-world.
