THE ORIGIN OF THE JUSTICE LEAGUE While celebrating their anniversary as a team. the Justice League shared their origin with Snapper Carr and new member Green Arrow. When representatives of the planet Appellax sought to conquer Earth, they drew the individual attentions of the Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and the Martian Manhunter. Despite singular success against the aliens, the champions fell one by one to Appellaxian Wood King. Only by combining their abilities would the heroes overcome their foe - a conclusion that was also reached by Superman and Batman, who jointly thwarted the alien at the end.
