Synopsis
"The End of the World As We Know It" Majestic fights off the remaining Elders and begins to condemn their practice of forcing ignorance on the people they lead. He mentions how the alien Ark is slowly dying and remaining on the ship will only doom the entire Plenary to destruction. Leaving the elders to their personal shame, Majestic makes it deeper into the Ark, finally reaching the 'Godhead', the Ark's central processor, where he finds the remains of an alien warrior named Sabrol, the only member of the Plenary to attempt to commune with the Godhead. Phoment arrives and attempts to redeem himself by helping Majestic break further into the Godhead. The two then learn that the Ark's long-lost mission was to rescue the populations of planets and get them to safety while leaving Vedettes to delay an ancient enemy advance. With Phoment's help, Majestic is able to reprogram the Godhead to make the Ark begin returning the stolen populations to their home planets. Within two months, the Ark arrives back at Earth and begins the short process of returning the population of Earth back to the surface. Majestic arrives to greet the rescued inhabitants, but finds to his horror that the entire planet has become infested with Daemonites.
