Synopsis

Wading through the Everglades, the Man-Thing heads into an area where two men are about to test a weapon. Startled by his presence, one of the men shoots the Man-Thing with the weapon. Instantly, the Man-Thing is dissolved and transported to a snow-covered region far away from the swamp. As he is about to pick up a strange-looking device in the snow, the Man-Thing is attacked by a pack of wolves. After beating the wolves into the ground, the Man-Thing moves onward, not knowing where he is going and yet sensing that he does not belong in this icy environment.Meanwhile, a party of explorers is seen several miles away. Russell encourages the group to press on, while Roger makes inappropriate advances at Elaine. She refuses him and runs ahead to join her husband. After several hours of trekking through the snow, the explorers are hit by a powerful ice storm. As they head for the shelter of a crag of massive rocks, Russell loses his footing and is swept down the cliff. Elaine and Roger take refuge in the rocks and wait for the storm to pass. After the ice storm clears, Elaine insists on finding her husband, Russell. Roger tries to convince her that he is dead, but she protests and begins her search.Elaine & Roger Search for RussellAt the base of the cliff, five hundred feet below Elaine and Roger, Russell has survived the fall in a snow drift. He is alive but has suffered several broken ribs. As he regains consciousness, Russell is attacked by a huge Himalayan brown bear. In his weakened condition, Russell is no match for the giant bear. Lumbering in from the distance, the Man-Thing senses the stressed emotions from Russell and begins fighting the bear. As the battle ensues, the bear begins to see that he is outmatched and...
