Hulk, wandering in the desert, is taken in by an Indian shaman who calms Hulk with a meditative fire. While in a trancelike state, Hulk is attacked by Hammer and Anvil. During the scuffle, Hammer is shot in the face by Scourge, who had been disguised as the shaman, and is killed instantly. Due to Hammer and Anvil's lifeforce bond, Anvil shortly dies, too. Hulk is confused, but mostly by the left behind mask that was the face of the Shaman who had been kind to him.
