In the dark eons before man arose from the primordial mire, the gods made war. And the demon-thing called Azoth was hurled down by the spirits of light and imprisoned within a towering mountain. For untold millennia it has desired to escape - and to ravage the Hyborian Age of Man which had now arisen while it lay imprisoned in stone.
