Having tracked down Volx, the New Warriors attack her in space. After forcing her to Earth, the Warriors have to stop the Queen from activating a bomb which will elimate all super-powers from the planet! Without super-heroes, the Dire Wraiths will easily conquer Earth. During the battle, Garthan Saal is killed but is able to restore the Nova powers to Richard Rider before he dies. The weapon detonates but, due to the intervention of the Warriors, proves ineffective and the Queen is captured.
