The story of a beautiful mermaid ensnared by Lucas, a sideshow charlatan and put on display in his traveling carnival is inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's 'Shadow over Innsmouth.' The carnival is forced to move to another town after two of Mea's girls are murdered by religious zealots. Meanwhile, the horrible tale behind the mermaid's capture and the grizzly consequences to Lucas are revealed.
