Synopsis

THE FROGOTTEN DEAD Dick Grayson is working his shift in Hogan's Alley and listens to Police Inspector Morgan who will retire within the next few days. Morgan is telling him about a cold case - the important one in his career he never was able to solve. The case is about a shooting in which not only three of Eddie Minh's boys died, but an innocent bystander was killed as well. The last words of the dying old man sounded like "the boy with no hair".   After finishing work, Nightwing immediately visits the crime scene located in a part of Blüdhaven which now is nearly abandoned. After studying some of the old case files Nightwing continues the investigation based on the "boy with no hair" clue. He "visits" a group of Aryans who prefer the bald look, but even after using some force these guys have no idea what shooting Dick is talking about.  After asking Oracle for support, Nightwing swings to the estate of Eddie Minh who still owes him a favor for saving his at that time unborn children. Nightwing breaks into the house, but Minh's wife catches him and Dick gets chased away by her bodyguards.   Running out of ideas, Nightwing once again goes to where the shooting took place. While thinking about how far the shooter might have been away from his victims, Dick spots a an old poster on a house wall. There are five children on it, and only one of them does not hold a hare in his arms. Nightwing figures the last words of the bystander actually were "the boy with no hare" and that he saw the shooter in the window above that kid. Nightwing searches the long abandoned apartment and finds one cartridge case. Oracle is able to identify finger prints on it - they belong to a contract killer Samson DeLyle who already is in prison and sentenced for life.   Dick gives Inspector Morgan an anonymous phone call. He lies that he once shared a prison cell with Samson DeLyle who told him he had been responsible for shooting Eddie Minh's boys years ago. Inspector Morgan cannot believe his luck and Nightwing is happy he was able to sweeten the retirement party of the old inspector ...
