Plastic Man #3
Synopsis
Title: "The Biggest Wheel in Town" Plastic Man crashes a party aboard a ship in order to see Micheline DeLute III. The party is interrupted when the Duke of Wheelington stakes a claim to the ship's wheel and every wheel in the world. Wheelington claims that his ancestor, Urglly - the Ugly, invented the wheel in the stone age, so he owns the patent rights. The government and Plastic Man try to fight the claim, but in the meantime no wheels can be used unless a fee is paid to the Duke. Micheline DeLute II tries to get her daughter to marry the Duke in order to waive her own fees. Plastic Man crashes the wedding and reveals a patent of his own. He claims that his ancestor invented man-made fire, so all products requiring fire are owned by him. He then publicly undresses the Duke and exposes Wheelington as Dr. Dome in disguise. After Plas rescues Mike from Dr. Dome, the patent controversy is finished.
