Synopsis

NEMESIS Tim practices his interrogation skills on Alfred, who is pretending to be a murderer. Afterwards, he wants to keep investigating Johnny Warren, but Bruce tells the trail went cold weeks ago and he should go home.  Two police officers are watching the "Willow Street Poker Club," headquarters to middle-management mob boss Henry Aquista, when they are killed by the now possessed Johnny Warren. Warren wrests control of Aquista's mob away from him and kills three of his men.   Tim reassures his friend Bernard that he has no interest in Darla Aquista, but Bernard doesn't believe he really has a girlfriend named Stephanie. Bernard reveals that Darla's father is Henry Aquista.   Robin investigates Warren's mother and finds her dead body mummified, which makes him think she's been dead for years, just as Spoiler finds the dead police officers in the same condition. She contacts Robin to tell him, and he orders her to call in backup. Spoiler can't, though, because Batman and the others have frozen her out, and Robin knew, which she points out when he arrives.   Warren attacks Robin and then Spoiler while the artifact in his chest warns him that he is draining its power. Robin begs for Spoiler's life, but Spoiler comes to her own rescue.   The two fight Warren until the artifact burns out and he appears to die, only for his body to later disappear from the Kane County Morgue. Warren reestablishes himself in Istanbul as "Johnny Warlock." Warren swears to kill Robin and everybody he loves in revenge for his missing hand, which the artifact could regrow at any time.   Robin believes he is a murderer, but Batman reminds him that they don't know what killed Warren. Alfred questions Batman's sternness, but Bruce insists they both must treat Tim sternly now because Tim will turn babying into a sign that they believe he is a murderer. Batman goes to visit Spoiler in the hospital.
