Synopsis

Part 1 of the 4-part 'Bad Gumbo': The entire Swamp Thing mythos is turned inside out when Dr. Alec Holland regains consciousness in a South American hospital, sweating and disoriented from a terrible nightmare in which he had shambled through swamps as the reigning Earth Elemental. Then he remembers the truth: He overdosed on organic hallucinogens during one of his experiments in plant chemistry and has been experiencing fever dreams ever since. Yet Holland can't shake the strange connection he feels to the silver-haired woman named Abigail Arcane...or to the savage, murderous Swamp Thing rumored to be rampaging through the Louisiana bayou, killing anyone who crosses his path.
