That question led me down a rabbit hole,” says writer Kiel Curtis. “I started researching Indiana’s history, specifically its connection to limestone—the foundation of so many of our buildings, our monuments, even our prisons. What I found was chilling: a pattern of violence, corruption, and horror spanning centuries, all tied to the very stone beneath our feet.”
