Denise has returned to New Orleans and meets Lt. Morin once again. He still wants to help.  Meanwhile, Stewart goes to Wyoming to met with his friend Dick Cheney. He shows Dick all the information he has gathered from space telescopes and satellites, proving that his son was indeed taken by an alien visitor.   On the Great Ark, Ellie is in trouble. She is trying to contact her mother, but if she did it would kill her. She is calmed and the Surfer tries to explain why he cannot save the Earth and Gabe must remain on the ship. Ellie awakens and demands to be taken to her mother, because that is why she was chosen.   The Surfer leaves to contemplate this by meeting with the Singularity.
