Lisa is forced to play "Hail to the Chief" at the school's talent fair but rebels and plays another song. Mr. Largo pulls her off the stage, making Lisa frustrated. She then goes to the mall to sell her saxophone but instead finds a recording studio and records her music. Otto's band, "Otto and the Screaming Whiners", then records their song after Lisa's but due to a recording error the recordings get mixed. Otto then submits the tape to a radio station which plays the song and it becomes a hit in Springfield.
