Sonic the Hedgehog #42 is the forty-second issue of the Sonic the Hedgehog comic. This comic features one story: "In Every Kingdom There Must Exist a Little Chaos". It also features a Knuckles mini-story called "Knuckles' Quest". Be careful who you trust, Sonic! As time runs out for the ailing King Acorn, the Freedom Fighters desperately search for a cure to the crystalization process that is slowly devouring the king's body! Hoping that a chaos emerald can reverse the deadly effects, the gang must turn to the only one they know with a chaos emerald on hand -- KNUCKLES THE ECHIDNA! But will the guardian of the floating island feel so generous? Yeah, right!
