Synopsis
This one- shot reprints an untitled Star-Lord story from Marvel preview #11 broken into four titled chapters with three additional pages added to set up the material as a flashback. It also featues a Doctor Who tale from Doctor Who Monthly #52 titled "The Spider God". Star-Lord makes an enterance on a planet recently conquered by slavers which he promptly sets about liberating. He can breathe in space, knows how to sword fight, and owns a sentient spacecraft named "ship" that can shape-shift and was formerly an intelligent star. He takes on Jayson of Sparta (first appearance) and has yet to become a guardian of he galaxy. In "the Spider God" The Doctor lands arrives on planet occupied by giant spiders and a trigger-happy human population. In killing the spiders a human militia is destablizing the ecosystem of the world and ushering in disaster.
