Synopsis

Nancy Bryce Stardate 8145.3 - Stardate 8148.9 James Kirk gets regular command as Captain of the The U.S.S. Enterprise.  He and the crew is assigned to investigate the disappearance of the U.S.S. Gallant, near the Klingon Neutral Zone. There the Enterprise will face a new threat from the Klingon Empire led by none other than Koloth himself.  This could turn the balance of power in the sector on its head.  Side NotesThis books takes place right after the second Star Trek film ( Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan).  The Crew has also taken on two new crewman.  William Bearclaw and Nancy Bryce.  Christine Chapel is also on board even though she was not seen in the second film.  Spock of course is dead and Pavel Chekov does not appear in the book but is featured on the cover so after reading this issue Checkov could either be on the crew or remain a member of the U.S.S. Reliant.     Saavik has taken Spock's role and it appears that after this issue Bearclaw and Bryce have taken Chekov's role.  Bryce is seen at Chekov's old post.
