Synopsis

While having a nightmare about Marritza, Kira Nerys is awakened by a message from Bajor. She is instructed to meet and provide security for Sueriel, a half-Cardassian Bajoran spy who is returning home. Once aboard Deep Space 9, Sueriel finds that her Cardassian appearance is despised by resident Bajorans and also attracts the attention of the Circle. Sueriel is severely beaten by members of the Circle and she begs Julian Bashir to destroy her face. Instead, Bashir performs reconstructive surgery and fakes Sueriel's death. With Sueriel's help, Kira captures a Bajoran double-agent who is using a ring of the Circle to do his dirty work.
