The Kylar Ambush This is the story of really happened on Rigel VII.  In the very first pilot of Star Trek ever Captain Christopher Pike tells the ships doctor how bad he has failed on his mission of Rigel VII and how he blamed himself for the deaths of his crew, and all the injured.  If you look close you can even see the bandaged arm of Jose Tyler from the fight.  The story is laid open on the pages of this book as Captain Pike and his crew struggle for survival as they are victims of an ambush of the Kaylar.
