Kandor, self-professed mystic, an itinerant charlatan who eked out a meager living telling fortunes in shoddy carnivals, reading tea leaves in gypsy stores in the slums of our cities, and totally unable to foretell the future or unravel the mysteries of the past , suddenly found himself with the gift. He peered beneath the veil of time and saw visions there that were incredible. He foresaw tragedy for the luckless people whose fortunes he read!
