The Saga of Swamp Thing Annual was really just a comic adaptation of the Swamp Thing film released the same year and its cover the movie poster for the film. Despite having no ties to the ongoing series, also in 1982, there was a series launched entitled The Saga of Swamp Thing from whence this drew its name. It's numbering would be taken into account for subsequent annuals for the series but they dropped "The Saga of" prefix and were merely entitled Swamp Thing Annual.
