Released September 2024
Tales of the TMNT #71
Synopsis
Having lost rights to include Cerebus in their publications, for a long time Mirage Studios were unable to reprint TMNT v1 #08, which actually was of much importance to the TMNT chronology. In 2006, the Spanish publishing company Norma Editorial acquired the license to reprint the original Eastman and Laird TMNT comics and the problem with the issue was resolved. The story was rewritten and redrawn by Mirage in-house staffers Stephen Murphy and Jim Lawson. Murphy took the liberty of creating a completely different story which -- while under the intention and edict of replacing the original TMNT #8 -- still managed to preserve the original story in a roundabout way. Unfortunately, the rewritten, redrawn comic has never been published in the US. It's time to change that! Now the English version is available as Tales of the TMNT v2 #71!
