Synopsis
Tim and James travel to overseas to prevent a missionary from being deported by order of Kruma, the ruler of a small African nation. Kruma has held a deep resentment and distrust of whites because of a childhood trauma during British colonial rule. When he was a small boy, he had been horsewhipped by a British soldier for failing to salute a military motorcade. The beating left Kruma with a permanent facial disfigurement and scarring all over his body.Kruma's attitude toward whites begins to change after his chief political rival, Zuloo (who has been supported by Chinese power broker Lu Fang), is converted to Christianity and stops seeking to undermine Kruma's authority. Kruma's attitude is further changed when Tim Clark saves him from an assassination attempt. Eventually, Kruma decides to allow the missionary to stay in his country.
