This is the origin story of the second Green Hornet and Kato. It is 1968 about twenty-two years after the last Green Hornet retired. There is also a current Green Hornet who is not revealed at this point. At the end of the book is a family genealogy chart of both the Reid family and the Kato family.The second Green Hornet was the nephew of the first Green Hornet, but both share the same name, Britt Reid. The young Britt did not want to follow in his uncles footsteps and felt that the world had changed and there was no need for the Green Hornet any longer. Obviously, he will find out he is wrong.
