Synopsis
Someone has been plotting against the Master Inquisitors! Nikolaï, with the aid of four other Master Inquisitors, tries to discover who that ‘someone’ is… It is a delicate investigation, which must be led quickly, because even though the Inquisition is the visible target, Nikolaï dreads an attack against the monarchs, Aquilon and Assynia. The motive of the conspirators is obvious - the return of magic! Diminished since the end of the Great War, only the spark of chaos and conflict can fully ignite it again, for magic is bound to war... But only the Master Inquisitors require magic to exercise their talents. Therefore there is no doubt; the culprit is one of them, but which one?
