With Scarlett lost in the fall from the airship, Ishmael awakes in a tropical swamp to find the object of his desire replaced in his passionate embrace by a cold, slimy giant slug. Horrified, Ishmael plunges into a terrifying jungle of hallucination. On the outskirts of a weird metropolis he is captured by cannibal aristocrats . . . then liberated by the hot-blooded Ruby and her band of outlaw freedom fighters. Seduced, Ishmael joins her in opposition of the Mesh Men, and together they embark on a reckless infiltration of the threatening city.
